Love is political
Have you ever loved anyone knowing that acceptance is a far-fetched dream? Have you ever hesitated to love the one you love cause you didn't want to fight any battle? Have you ever faked love cause you were too scared standing in front of the bathroom mirror trying to come out to yourself?
Have you ever lost love to the violence and restrictions?I say, Love is not poetical but political
Cause you shoved politics in my love
And i repeat, Love is political.
Are you one of those star crossed lovers, whose tragedy was strategically plotted?
Are you one of those lovers whose love was made to confirm its gender, religion and caste rather than the love itself?
Are you the one whose love story had to see its end even before its dawn?
Or the love story that was dismissed by the demons of society cause it is opposed to their norms?
I say, Love is not poetical but political
Cause you choked my love with politics
And I repeat, Love is political.
"You are against the nature of God" they said. They who said are the same who claimed "Love is God."
"I found a fair, beautiful girl for you" said the mother. "You will be happy with this man" assured the father. "You will learn to love", said both.
I ask, can you promise me a love that is as real as your racism? Or as firm as your staunched stereotypes?
Can you be as sure as your insatiable desire for pride and honor?
Speaking of honor, there is no honor in killings.
Cause, my love is intimidated when it should be celebrated
And I repeat, love is political.
Indeed, love is love.
Though you chose to decide whom I love, whom I trust or whom i fight for
Though you made it a matter of politics rather than a matter of choice
I chose to kiss.
I simply chose to kiss, ignoring the bold label that said, "With conditions applied" on the package of love that I received at the doorsteps of my heart cause my mind resisted to think of anything but kissing my lover. Kissing away all the prejudices together.
I say, Love is not poetical but political
Cause my romantic experiences are inherently political experiences
And I repeat, love is political.
