The art of loving yourself

To all the people who love deeply and expect nothing in return. To the one who gives his everything to make the world feel loved and doesn’t get enough for him to feel the same way. To the one who pours out love in its purest form without any color added; the one who doesn’t become bitter or lose faith. You are gifted. The world makes use of you to heal from its hatred.

But darling now is the time to use that gift on yourself; to love yourself. Treat yourself with the same kind of love you give others as there exists no one who deserves as much as you deserve it. Soak in your love until it gets into your skin and you feel it in every bone of yours.

Darling, know that you are beautiful not just in the way you look but in every possible way with all your flaws and imperfections. If you fail to understand, life will find its way to teach you and believe me it will be a hard voyage. I will not allow you to take anymore hurt as I fear that you would give up on yourself and that you would never find your reasons. I will never allow that because the world needs your gift, your selfless love.

I also know that it is not easy to love yourself. But once you start learning this beautiful art you will become unstoppable. You will stop searching for the one who could reciprocate the same kind of love you give. You don’t have to crave for someone to hold you as those unsolicited thoughts cloud your vision at 3 in the morning. You will be now ready to face the world and nurture it with your love as you always do. But this time you will not be left with emptiness.
